Life Coach

Life Coaching is about coaching the person, not just the problem.

Coaching is a relational experience in which one person facilitates an individual or a group to discover their God-given potential so that they grow personally, and make their unique contribution.

Coaching is also about change, and confronting habits and thought patterns that are often deeply imbedded over the years. At times they are difficult to alter.

Coaching is about “Action.” Each session seeks to determine at least two action (homework) steps to be taken before the next session.

The C.O.A.C.H. Model

The five step guide for conducting an effective coaching session

  1. “Connecting” with the person
  2. Determining the sessions “Outcomes”
  3. Building “Awareness” of the issue and current reality
  4. Determining the next steps and “Course” of action
  5. Reviewing the “Highlights” and key insights of the session

The coaching relationship will provide you personal awareness, insight, modifying behavioral patterns and establishing action steps for results that can change your life.

What is Coaching?

  • It’s about you and your goals and developing a path for your growth, in which we will do this through a comprehensive evaluation and plan. A coaching agreement will be set in place for accountability.
  • Coaching is about learning, rather than teaching or telling. You are the expert of your life. As your coach, I will use active listening techniques to help you move forward in the process.
  • Coaching is about your “Action Steps.” In each session, you will determine 1 to 3 action steps (your homework) before our next session. You’ll be amazed how fast your goals become a reality.

What Coaching is Not

Coaching is not counseling or therapy.

Many of the communication techniques maybe similar. Coaching is limited advice, more reflective and your coach asking you good questions.

Counseling focuses more on the past to bring about healing, and addressing emotions in order to move forward. Coaching is future and actioned based. This is more for people who are in a healthily place emotionally.

Coaching is not authoritarian. I will push you beyond what you may think you can do. Ultimately change will be totally up to you. The ball will always be in your court.
