Did you know that over 80% of Americans will be exposed to a traumatic event in their lifetime? Sometimes the emotional aftershocks or stress reactions appear immediately after a traumatic event, within a few hours, or even a few days. In some cases, weeks or months may pass by before the stress reaction appears.
I’m well trained, experienced and certified in critical incident stress management, as well as crisis intervention. I currently practice as an independent consultant utilizing my expertise in the areas of workplace and community chaplaincy, christian life coaching, and biblical counseling.
Being there for a person in crisis can be better than offering sound advice. The physical presence of someone who is genuinely concerned speaks volumes. People in crisis want to be able to verbalize their story and be meet where there at, without any judgements. Finding very simple and practical ways to help a person maintain routine functions is essential to the recovery process. Helping individuals through the process by linking them with valuable recourses and referrals will minimize the stress level.
